How Solar Heating Works

The world-class eco hometec solar heating system uses the latest solar heating technology so effectively that it performs even on cloudy days. It has been installed in tens of thousands of homes across Europe.

The system is extremely safe and reliable. The system’s mains pressure hot water supply’s benefits include powerful showers and fast filling baths. The cylinder is well insulated, fitted with a back-up immersion heater and its attractive external finish means it can be fitted anywhere in the house.
Your eco hometec system can be directly connected to an eco hometec solar compatible combi or as part of a conventional boiler and hot water cylinder system.

When coupled to an eco hometec low temperature underfloor heating system solar energy can be used for space heating. This, when combined with a heat pump and a buffer tank offers a very low carbon and energy efficient solution to home heating.

eco hometec solar systems can also be fitted to our solar compatible condensing combi boilers. Water at mains pressure is stored and heated by the solar system this in turn is supplied direct to the solar combi. Sensors at the boiler inlet confirm the incoming water temperature and the boiler’s onboard VCO (Variable Controlled Output) system modulates the burner so that just enough gas is used to raise water temperature to the required set point – typically 55°C - 60°C for domestic hot water.
