What is a condensing boiler?

Condensing boilers get their name because they condense the flue gases - In other words, they extract heat from the exhaust gases that would otherwise escape through the flue. By saving this otherwise lost heat and redirecting it into your heating system they use less gas to heat your home and hot water.

PPS Plastic Flue System for Condensing Boilers

Due to the extremely low temperature flue gases, the eco hometec condensing boilers are flued using a lightweight and corrosion resistant eco hometec PPS (Polyphenylene Sulphide) plastic flue system. The boiler can be flued over distances previously impossible (up to 15 metres depending on output and flue design) from conventional boilers. The total resistance of the flue tube and air supply together may not be greater than 85 Pa (Pascal's). Additional Features include:

A unique corrosion resistant stainless steel condensate heat exchanger.
Integral sensors (PTC) for monitoring flow and return water temperatures.
3 way switching valve and facilities for connection to an eco hometec DHW storage module or similar.
Computer controlled combustion analysis with built in fault diagnosis facility. These readings can be down loaded onto a PC by using the interface cable and software available from eco hometec.
